About

My great-grandfather was a wood worker and clock maker.  I loved spending time in his shop, the smell of the saw dust, the feel of just planed wood.  I'd make "shelves" out of scraps as gifts.

My father was a cabinet maker when I was young and later I helped him do handyman and remodeling projects.  I think this where I got my love of making.

fI'm happiest when I'm making something, whether it's remodeling projects at my own house, building my mobile work benches, or my new love of wood working.  There are no time limits, no pressure to get it right, and when I'm done I have something.  Sometimes it's beautiful, sometimes it's useful, sometimes neither, but I've always learned something.

My aspiration is for people to think their HavenCraft cutting board, valet tray, or corn hole set is too beautiful to use but use it anyway because everyone deserves small luxuries.  I want to make beautiful things that actually get used.
